French Adult Education and Training Centre
Duration : Full-time 8-week placement
Short Description:
NOTE: To be eligible to apply for these positions you must:
- Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of the employment;
- Be a Canadian citizen, permanent residents or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act; and
- Be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial/territorial legislation and regulations.
- Possess an intermediate level of French proficiency
This position is funded through the Canada Summer Jobs Initiative. Responsibilities:
- Provide assistance and support to the coordination of programs, services and events.
- Conduct outreach to the community, provide information, and promote programs and activities.
- Support administrative aspects of programs, including registrations, permission forms, attendance, report writing, evaluations, program documentation
- Act as a teaching assistant to Chief Instructors.
- Work with the team to provide collaborative programming.
- Provide non-judgmental, inclusive support to learners
- Other duties, relevant to the position, as assigned.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Be able to communicate effectively in French.
- An interest in working in community-based organizations.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to plan and organize activities and to take initiative and work independently.
- Computer proficiency, including word processing, internet, spreadsheets, MS office, publisher, PowerPoint.
- Ability to think innovatively to promote programs utilizing Canva or other graphic design tools is an asset.
- Punctual, reliable, proactive communicator
- Work evenings and weekends as required for special events.
