About Us:
Northstar Consulting Inc. is excited to offer an internship opportunity for a Drywall Finisher and Plasterer. This position is funded by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation (NOHFC) through its Workforce Development Program and is designed to provide valuable hands-on experience in the construction industry.

Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Drywall Finisher and Plasterer Intern. The successful candidate will work closely with our experienced team to learn and apply techniques in drywall finishing, plastering, and painting.

Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation and application of plaster and drywall finishes.
• Sand, tape, and prepare surfaces for painting.
• Apply paint, stain, varnish, and other finishes to surfaces using brushes, rollers, or sprayers.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean work environment.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and to high standards.
• Measure, cut, and fit drywall sheets for installation on walls and ceilings.
• Repair and restore damaged drywall surfaces.
• Apply texturing techniques to create desired finishes.

Qualifications:
• Basic knowledge of drywall installation, finishing techniques, and painting is an asset.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical condition and the ability to lift heavy materials.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and methods.

Eligibility Criteria:
This position is funded by the NOHFC, and candidates must meet the following criteria:
• Must be a new entrant into the workforce, transitioning to a new career, or unemployed/underemployed and entering a new field.
• Must not have previously participated in an NOHFC-funded internship.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Once hired, must reside in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.

Pay: $17.55-$19.00 per hour
