Job Description:

  • Work with artistic producer to ensure policies and practices around JEDI and safe, respectful spaces for all
  • Outreach to marginalized artists/communities
  • Ensure justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion (JEDI) receives priority and practice within the organization
  • Monitor organization to ensure EDI goals are being achieved
  • Work with Artistic Producer to develop strong HR policies to protect and ensure safe, positive working environments (and set strategy for steps to take to sort out issues) – safe spaces; anti harassment & bullying; anti-hate; etc.
  • Connect with and engage BIPOC & marginalized artists and participants
  • Connect with and engage Indigenous artists in remote communities
  • Liase with Indigenous Elders and consultants
  • Coordinate ASL & Ojibwe translation for digital content. Ensure subtitles are being used.
  • Work with the Festival team to create and monitor application streams to ensure diversity and inclusion.
  • Ensure safe and supportive spaces with JEDI in mind for all artists, participants, and partners – ensure all organization bylaws and policies remain inclusive and fair.
  • Work with the Artistic Producer and board to ensure all organizational procedures (such as the on boarding/off boarding of employees and board members, artist supports, sponsorship opportunities etc.) remain fair and appropriate.
  • Develop healthy approaches to the onboarding and off-boarding of staff
  • Prepare, implement, and oversee EDI training material for staff and board members. – additional related tasks may be assigned at the discretion of the Artistic Producer

  • setting and tracking own schedule and activities
  • working as a team

It is important that the applicant have access to a computer and the internet. Must be able to start work right away.
$20/hr x 25 hrs/week 10 Month Contract
