JOB TITLE: Indigenous Marketing Intern
Salary: $70,011.00
POSITION SUMMARY:
We are seeking a Marketing Intern who will play a pivotal role in maintaining and executing our marketing, branding, and social media strategies as developed in collaboration with a third-party marketing consultant. The intern will report directly to the General Manager of Missanabie Cree Business Limited Partnership (MCBLP), supporting efforts to communicate the organization’s mission, achievements, and opportunities to diverse stakeholders.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate with the external marketing consultant to develop, learn and execute strategies for branding, social media, and marketing. Actively participate in training and upskilling.
- Actively engage with stakeholders, including Missanabie Cree First Nation members and business partners, by responding to comments, messages and inquiries on social media platforms in a professional and timely manner.
- Organize and manage online events or campaigns to foster community involvement and awareness.
- Maintain and manage various social media accounts in alignment with MCBLP’s marketing strategy.
- Work with the web development team to integrate social media and digital marketing strategies. Update website content with relevant news, achievements and upcoming opportunities.
- Support the creation and scheduling of social media content, including posts, updates, success stories, and community engagement.
- Monitor analytics and report social media performance metrics. Develop presentations to communicate results and achievements to the General Manager and other stakeholders.
- Ensure all communication is consistent with MCBLP’s brand identity and guidelines.
- Coordinate with business partners to amplify collaborative initiatives and joint social media campaigns or cross-promotional opportunities.
- Assist in generating leads for business partnerships and opportunities.
SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Educational background: University Degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field (recent graduates are encouraged to apply);
- Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing strategies;
- Strong oral and written communication skills with strong attention to detail;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- Strong organization skills and attention to detail;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Google Docs/sheets with the desire to learn new software;
- The ability to work with and maintain confidential information;
- The ability to work in a fast-paced environment, delivering high efficiency and high-quality work; and
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and interact with external consultants and various stakeholders.
