Anticipated start date: May 5, 2025
- Archival research based around Residential Schools and survivors
- Research projects and information request research
- Curriculum development for communities about archival access and processes
- Curriculum development for communities about GPR processes assisting in developing workshops around both archival work and GPR for communities
- Individual research and projects about Shingwauk Residential school
- Training and helping with GPR scanning
Qualifications
- Enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., history, anthropology, English, education, sciences)
- Knowledgeable about Indigenous histories in Canada · Knowledgeable about the TRC and its calls to action · Demonstrate writing skills – a one-page academic writing sample is required
- Able and willing to work in person, onsite in Sault Ste. Marie and surrounding areas (no remote work will be offered);
- Between 15 and 30 years of age (inclusive) at the start of employment;
- Canadian citizens, permanent residents, or persons to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act;
- Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work according to the relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
- International students are not eligible.
