Summary of Position

Reporting to the Regional Manager, the Occupational Tester is a casual position that is responsible for administering various pre and post-offer employment tests that are required by their assigned client. The casual Occupational Testers are employed remotely as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in Drug & Alcohol testing and response for NorthStream clients in the region, if licensed LPN/RPN/RN/OT/PA/KIN other tasks could include: Audiometry, Spirometry, medical exams, fitness exams, drug and alcohol testing and other required tests.
  • Collaborate with Nurse Administrators as required to ensure job completion as per applicable regulations, guidelines, procedures, or policies.
  • Adhere to proper guidelines of health & safety, prevention of infection and control.
  • Receive and organize schedules for client’s workplace testing.
  • Keep track of all client contractor employees that are tested using an Excel spreadsheet.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as required such as on-call responsibilities.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Demonstrated clinical competence and transferable work experience.
  • Previous experience working in an outpatient clinic setting/ambulatory care environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with office software including Microsoft Word and Excel; experience using Veriport and Jane would be an asset.
  • Current BLS/CPR Certificate.
  • Training provided by the Company:
    o Breath Alcohol Technician certification.
    o Audiometry certification.
    o Spirometry certification.
    o Other certifications as required.
  • Excellent physical assessment skills, critical thinking skills and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience working with diverse population groups.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and uphold a high level of discretion.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure, in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines on multiple tasks.
  • Flexibility and good change management skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within an interprofessional team, as well as independently.
  • Excellent customer service skills, optimistic attitude and the ability to contribute to a positive and encouraging workplace culture.
    This position plays a critical role in practices advocating for safety and demonstrating principles, practices, and processes that will optimize a safe environment for all.
