POSITION SUMMARY:

Reyco Marine & Small Engines is looking for a Parts Counter Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in marine and small engine parts and be able to identify and locate parts quickly and accurately. The Parts Specialist will be responsible for maintaining inventory, providing customer service, and ensuring that orders are filled in a timely manner. You will also assist customers with purchasing boats, snow blowers, lawnmowers, & other lawn/garden equipment. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBLITIES:

  • Primary duties and responsibilities, not limited to:
  • Help customers find parts and accessories quickly and accurately
  • Generate special orders for customer requests of non-stocked items
  • Notify customers of backorders, and/or receipt of special orders
  • Maintain a tidy workspace suitable for public view
  • Stock shelves as required
  • Provide a happy and genuine greeting to every customer
  • Inquire as to how you may assist every customer
  • Promptly answer incoming telephone calls, provide information, and transfer calls using best practices
  • Ensure parts inventory is accurate and up to date.
  • Maintain records of parts orders and deliveries.
  • Identify parts that need to be reordered.
  • Process orders for parts and supplies.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

  • Receives inquiries from customers requesting retail parts, price quotes or general information either by phone, email or at the parts counter.
  • Research customer inquiries using Internet sites, manufacturer contact or on-site reference materials.
  • Performs part sales transactions either on the phone or at the parts counter.
  • Creates purchase orders to buy parts needed for stock, customer or work order requirements and forward orders to appropriate vendor.
  • Maintains a clean and professional work area.
  • ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY: 

  • High school diploma
  • Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
  • Basic computer skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to communicate in a friendly and professional manner to our customers and other associates
  • Good phone etiquette
  • Marine, Lawnmower, Snow blower, Lawn/Garden Equipment knowledge helpful

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Retail environment
  • Monday-Friday 8am-5pm; rotating Saturday shift 9am-1pm
  • Must be able to work 40+/- hours

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Extensive use viewing a computer monitor and using a keyboard
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, pull, or push at least 40 pounds.
  • Routinely kneel-down, bend-over, and reach to high shelves
