Join the Sault Community Career Centre and Coach Michael Angelo Realista for a FREE Olympic Taekwondo Workshop for Youths and Adults!
Coach Michael Angelo Realista is 3rd Degree Kukkiwon Black Belt in Taekwondo. A Kukkiwon certificate is the most prestigious of all Taekwondo Black Belt certificates. The World Taekwondo Federation, the international governing body for Taekwondo, requires all those who wish to compete internationally to be Kukkiwon certified. Before coming to Canada, Coach Michael was a full-time Taekwondo Varsity Head Coach, a National Team Athlete, and a Varsity Player. He is currently enrolled in Sault College’s Fitness and Health Promotion program.
Taekwondo is a traditional Korean martial art practiced in 206 countries for sport, self-defence, and personal growth. It uses punching and kicking techniques and has been an Olympic sport since 2000.
Workshop Activities:
- Introduction to Taekwondo and its benefits
- Basic Korean terminology
- Warm-up & Stretching
- Basic stances
- Basic hand techniques & kicks
- Pad kicking
- Cool-down
- Question and Answer
This workshop will be held on Friday, January 26, from 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. at the Sault Community Career Centre’s 477 Queen Street East, Unit 101 (entrance off Bay Street) location, inside the Queenscentre Building.
